چکیده
By using hybrid fibre radio (HFR), a method in integrating wireless and optical networks, large part of the radio complexity can be transferred to a central office deeper in the network. This paper presents a novel approach in deploying IEEE 802.11 wireless local access network (WLAN) through integration with HFR. We will discuss its applications, a brief review of the individual technologies, and investigate the networking issues involve to make such integration feasible.

Dual-Band Evanescent-Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide Band-pass Filter for WLAN Applications
A new multi-layer substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) structure is developed to design dual-band evanescent-mode band-pass filters (BPFs). Two independent series LC circuits are implemented by incorporating metallic irises in the different layers of the structure. The combination of the metallic irises with capacitive-plates is embedded inside the SIW to independently excite two evane...

متن کاملApplying Agent Technology into Radio Resource Management of WLAN System
IEEE 802.11 based Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system has been rapidly developed and deployed. With limitations of the standard and rapidly growing wireless application demand, the air interface acts as bottleneck even in high-speed WLAN systems such as 802.11a and 802.11g. To improve overall performance of 802.11 WLAN under large deployment and heavy application demand environment, a nov...
